old medical bills

I have some old medicals bills from 1999. I have remarried since those bills incurred.Can my current husband have his wages garnished for my past hospital bills? Also what is the SOL for medical bills?

Whether your debt is barred by the statute of limitations depends on whether you signed a writing guaranteeing payment. If you signed a guaranty, then it is a 10 year statute. If you did not, and the bill is like a doctor's bill, it is barred by a 5 year statute of limitations.

Your husband's wages cannot be garnished for this bill because he was not liable on the original debt.
