You need to send a copy of the documentation or you payment to the person calling you. I fyou paid by personalcheck, then black out your checking account number and the name of the bank. If it is the credtior, that has been calling you, then they hopefully will stop calling or explain whaty they feel yo stil owe them money. If it is anyone else trying to collect the debt from you, they must stop after getting the notice of payment and demand to cease contact from you. (They might restart collection efforts if they get verification of a current debt from the creditor. If they are wrong, then they may owe you money for violating consumer protections laws. Perhps the small expnse of hving an attorney write to the person collecting from you, would be worth getting them off your back.
