Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

payday loan collectors

I have several creditors calling me about my payday loans, I know I owe and I am trying to take care of them, but I am only working part time, I get no help financially from my husband and I am supporting 3 people on part time wages. Is there anything I can do to help me consolidate these loans or any kind of help I can get to take care of these, so the harrassing phone calls will stop? I dont know what to do or where to turn.

Re: payday loan collectors

You need to get in to see a credit counselor immediately. What you need is not another loan. You need to pay off the debts you already have.

When you are in a hole, the first step to getting out is to quit digging the hole deeper. That's what you do when you consolidate.

You need help in dealing with your spending and your credit and a good counselor can make all the difference.

You can stop harassing collection calls, if they are from collection agencies, by using the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. See www.ftc.gov. If the payday loan people are calling, you can't do much about them because the act does not cover them.

Good luck.
