Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri
I purchased a home 10/08. A lein popped up around 01/09 for a debt back in 1999. The court papers back in 1999 were sent to and old adress and I never received them. Is there a statue of limitations?

If there wa not sufficient service upon you in 1999, then there may nto have been personal jurisdiction for the court to enter a judgment against you. If the judgmetn wa snot legitiamte, then you can seek to have ti set aside. Although there was nto jursidiction for an inpersonam (for $ to be paid by you) judgment, therr may have been jurisdiction for an In Rem (for an interest in property) judgment. Hire an attorney to look at your specific situation to see if this lien cn be removed from your present property.
Good Luck
