Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

Real estate service error, must they be reimbursed?

In error a real estate tax service provided my tax bill information to a mortgage comapny who then paid my 2002 real estate taxes. The real estate service now wants me to reimburse them for their error and are threatening a collection service. If I am liable for this repayment, can I make payments to them without interest?

Re: Real estate service error, must they be reimbursed?

A lot depends on the circumstances. You may be obligated to repay the service, and you may not be obligated to repay.

If the amount of the bill is significant, you might want to have an attorney look over the matter to assist you with making a determination.
