Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

I received a letter from a local collection service and it had a bill for a hospital stay from 9 years ago. I sent a Request Validation and received copies of a bill I'd never seen. I don't remember ever receiving a bill from that hospital and assumed my insurance took care of it all. Is this a bill I have to pay?

There is not enough information here to determine if the alleged debt is collectable. It appears to possibly be within the statute if limitations. But, there may be other effective defenses. You should consult directly with a civil practice attorney, in your area. Take the available documents with you, and be prepared to answer their questions.
