Repossesion of truck on credit record after court order for ex spouse to refinac

My ex-husband was supposed to refinance our truck after our separation. Months had passed and he did not do so. Finally the truck was repossesed. A lawyer I spoke to before said I could not take action until this happened and it went on my credit record. How can I dispute this on my credit? Or can I form a civil or small claims suite against my ex-husband?

Do you have a settlement agreement in which your husband undertook to refinance the vehicle? Was it approved by the court? If so, you can go back into that court and get a court order for him to pay you back and you should write a letter to the collection agency and advise them of your position. Atleast they will have to send out your side, when they send out the negative information.
