Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

Am I responsible for my father's medical bills? He is going to check himself out of a care home before his doctor thinks he is ready to leave. His doctor won't sign him out. Medicare is going to charge him for his stay in the care home. I own half of his house. Can Medicare take away my half of the house as well to pay for my father's medical bills?

If the trnafer of half of the house to you was made more than 3 years ago, and you have nto otherwise made a commitment to the care home to be responsible for the bills, then it is unlikely that you or your assets will be subject to levy for your father's bills.
