Satisfaction of Judgement
My husband had a judgement that has been paid in full for three years. A satisfaction of judgement has never been filed by my knowledge and his credit report still shows a balance owed. What can I do to get this cleared up? I have already contacted the attorneys office that filed it to begin with but I have had no luck in getting it taken care of. What can I do???

There is satutory authority in Missouri that if the judgment is not satisfied within a "reasonable time" after a request on the holding the judgment, you can file a motion to have the court find that it is satisfied and apply to have your attorney's fees for doing so awarded to you.
As to the credit report, you can file a request that it be marked as paid on your record. The agency then contacts the party holding the judgment and if they fail to dispute the payoff within 30 days, then the credit shows it as paid.
