Absent fraud or a warranty to the contrary, if you were able to drive the car off the lot, the seller has fulfilled his obligation. You may not have any recourse against the seller or the lender, (if it is a different entity than the seller). Also, you may not have any defense to the claim for payments and interst. You might have an attorney look over your purchase paperwork and the report yrou mechanic made about what is wrong with the car. Perhaps there is something you can use.
Good luck
