Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

Summons to appear

I just received a summons to appear in court. My debt is under 9,000. On the last page of the summons is a contact number and even a payment website of the debt collector. Is it possible to contact the collector and make arrangements to stay out of court?

Re: Summons to appear

No. People who try to work something out in this way after they have been served a summons wind up with a judgment being entered against them in Court when they do not show up. Not only will this have negative consequences for you, but there is a much better solution. If you hire an attorney, the attorney will be able to save you much more money than the attorney costs. I have handled many of these cases and I would be glad to speak with you. Pleae feel free to give me a call.
