Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

supplying information on debt

I am facing court action over a credit card debt. If I go before a judge, will the attorneys for the credit card company ask for information as to where I have bank accounts or the name of my employer. So far the credit card company doesn't know where I bank or the name of my employer

Re: supplying information on debt

Until there is a judgment against you, you will not be compelled to divulge your financial information. After there is a judgment, the Creditor's attorney may set up a Hearing in Aid of Execution, commonly called a "debtor's exam". Unless you can assert some priviledge or other basis for not divulging such information, youmay be compelled to tell where you bank, where you work and what property you own.

Good Luck
