Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

Turned over to collection agency on a bill 4 years old

My wife and I got turned over to a collection agency on a bill that we had paid on and it's a bill that we haven't seen anything on in 4 years. We wondered if that was legal to get turned over on something you haven't seen on in 4 years. Also, a year or so ago we declared bankruptcy and shouldn't that have taken care of the bills? If you could please email me back at the address provided I would appreciate it.

Sincerely

Blaine

If you indeed had this debt discharged in bankruptcy you should notify the attorney who handled your bankruptcy and let him deal with the collection agency.

In the mean time send a full explanation to the collection agency by certified mail, including a xerox copy of your discharge in bankruptcy. That should terminate collection efforts.
