Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri
A vendor is threatening to place a lien against my property because a contract I used purchased materials from this vendor, but did not pay, and disappeared from the job completely. The contractor was paid for all materials by me. Is this a viable option for this vendor to come after me and put a lien against my property instead of going after the contractor? How am I responsible when they issued credit to the contractor and not to me?

It sounds like the vendor is asserting s mechanic's Lien on your property. If they comply with the procedural criteria, they can do this. Hopefully, the contractor was bonded, so you can make a claim for what you have to pay to satisfy the vendor's debt. But, you have a limited time in which to make your claim on the bond.
Good luck
