Wage attatchment

Is it legal for a creditor to attatch your wages in the state of Missouri?

If a creditor gets a judgment against you (or, in the case of a student loan, seeks a garnishment under the default statute) it can attach your wages. There are limits to how much can be attached.

Absent a judgment, a creditor cannot attach your wages. That means they have to sue, win, get a judgment, and then execute it against your employer.
