Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

Two years ago I was sued by a debt collector for a debt that they claimed was mine. I demanded to see the evidence on how this was. After they asked the court for three continuances they decided to drop their case against me for reasons of their own. They tried again to sue me for a second time using a different law firm for the same debt again, but after sending this law firm the court docket for the same debt in question they backed off. Now after two years they're threatening to sue me again for the same debt from a different law firm. Is this considered harassament? Are debt collectors allowed to sue for the same debt after they drop their case in court?

If a law firm files a suit against you, it is usualy not the collection agency suing you. It may be the same collection agency sending the case to three different law firms for filing. Unfortunately, since they voluntarily dismissed the previous cases, they are ntop precluded form refiliong unless the statute of limitations has run, or they truly have no evidence to prove their case.

I tmay that they dismissed the previous cases because they had not recieved all the necessary documents form teh cleint. They may have those documents now. If not, then you may be able to get them to go away again.
