The bill yor mother paid for you was an entirely separate legal matter from the criminal charge of shoplifting brought against you by the municipal, county, or state prosecutor. It is very common for people to be confused by this, so it is understandable that you did not take care of things properly back at the time you needed to do so.You should hire an attorney to help be sure that you negotiate a plea bargain that will avoid any conviction. I have handled many of these cases for people over the thirty-two years I have been practicing law, and I might be able to help you. Please feel free to call me for a free telephone consultation.
