Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

i am 17 years old and loss prevention at kohls talked to me about my wrongly usage of coupons for my friends and family in POS And told me I violated kohls associate policy. And they are making me pay for the amount that I "gave" out at a certain time and they said this is a win win for me or else they could get this to be a civil case. Do you think I am in a lot of trouble and would this go on my background check for the future. Now I am suspended and they haven't called me yet.
