my 17 yr old son

i have a 17 yr old son & him & his friends made phone calls to my sons ex girlfriend . my sons friend is only 16 he made the calls but the ex girlfriend told the police that she could hear my sons voice in background telling his friend what to say. so my ex wife gets a call from the police & told her to bring my son in or they would put a warrant out for his arrest so my ex wife took him in & the parents of the other kid was there also. they finger printed my son but since the other kid was only 16 nothing they could do to him since he was a minor is that true? we live in missouri. the police say my son has to go to court & that he can get probation or even serve jail time for this. is that true because this is my sons 1st offense ? i would appreciate a quick answer back i am really scared for my son thank u

Re: my 17 yr old son

Your post does not say what exactly your son is charged with, and I do not know whether the call was threatening, abusive, or illegal in some manner. In any event if your son is being charged with a crime it is very important for him to be represented by competent legal counsel. Especially at his age it is crucial that he avoid taking a conviction, and it may be possible to sucessfully defend whatever charge he is facing. I have handled hundreds of criminal cases in the thirty-plus years I have been practicing law, and I would be happy to speak with you. Please feel free to call me at the office for an initial telephone consultation. There will be no charge.
