Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

If I can not afford an attorney and I was told one would be appointed for me but due to a conflict of interest they have not. They have requested one from Columbia Mo which is about a 3 hr drive from me but due to a back log in cases they don't know when one will be appointed to me. What can I do? Is there a time limit as to when they have to get an attorney appointed?

You can ask the judge to appoint private counsel to represent you, But, if you would rather wait, you can let the process take its course, and prevent the prosecutor from going forward until they get an attorney for you. Of course you can also see if somone that cares about you wouldl hire an attorney to represent you.

Good luck
