alcohol to minors

last night my son had several friends over to our home for a party. i was upstairs in my room. he told me the police were at the door. some cars had blocked neighbors driveways so they called the sheriff. the police found several minors with alcohol. they did a breathalizer test on many of them and called their parents to come and get them. i was given a ticket which reads- supplied intoxicating liquor to person under 21 years of age. i did not buy any liquor for these kids. they brought it with them. i have a court date for april 11. what advice can you give me? how should i handle this? thank you for your help.

I can tell you that I have represented several people in exactly the same situation. Generally, an adult has the legal responsibility for minors drinking or in possession of alcohol on premises over which the adult has control. However, it may be possible to avoid a conviction on the charge of "supplying alcohol to minors". Your post to this web site does not state specifically where your court date is scheduled.
