Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
I am aware of an investment made by some individuals in an on-line product offering whose mastermind is a known con-man and fraud. This individual has scammed people for millions over the years and has always managed to just skirt the law--although there are some current legal actions underway which should seal his fate---hopefully. His latest product is wrapped in lies and these new investors, like previous ones, have been taken in by his charisma and BS. I want to notify one of these investors that they are being scammed--and buyer beware. The problem is that I don't know these people but I know how to reach one of them. I want to send it anonymously but given the declarations I can make to prove that they are being set-up, if it gets back to the 'mastermind', he will likely know where it originated. Is it legal for me to make this notification or should I just keep the information to myself and MYOB? I am telling you that these people stand to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars...

If any of your suspicions are false, you might be liable to the "mastermind" for civil damges. But, if he or any of the investors are Missourians, you will not get in trouble for reproting your suspicions to the Missouri Attorney General. He has a departmetn for taking reports of fraud. You may also report the information to the US Attorney.
