Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

Back in February I was caught stealing lottery from the gas station I worked at and when I was questioned by the police I admitted to stealing a little under 500 and he said they will continue from there. Now I found out through ex coworkers that it was over 500 and they have the case. Everyone is telling me to turn myself in because it will look better and because I'm pregnant. I can't afford a lawyer. I'm not sure what to do or what I will have to do its my first offense
