What Is The Biggest Punishment That Can Be Received If Found Guilty?

The girlfriend of my ex-boyfriend has a case against me for harassment in the Festus, Mo. If found guilty then what is the largest punishment that I can receive, should I get a lawyer & if I'm found guilty will this appear on my record?

Your question does not really tell us what you are charged with or where. Are you charged with a Municipal Ordinance violation in the City of Festus Municipal Court? Or, or you charged with violating a state statute in the State Courts? The answer will determine the answer to your question. At the least I believe that you are facing a $500 fine and up to 6 months in jail if this is in Municipal Court. I would definitely hire an attorney if I was faced this situation. You do not want a conviction for a charge like this on your record, and obviously you don't want to go to jail. Good luck.
