Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

My boyfriend a few years ago received a misdemeanor and the clerk who put it into the system by mistake put it in as a felony. So, this coming up on background checks for jobs has inhibited him from getting a job. He hired a lawyer to get the situation taken care of. That lawyer only removed it from case net. So, it's still popping up on background checks. Is there anything we can do to get it taken care of where he can get hired somewhere?

It isn't clear from your posting, whether the previous attorney sought to have the conviction listing corrected, or have the conviction expunged. If it was merely corrected as being listed as a misdemeanor, potential employers will still find it. Having it expunged means it to s no longer listed with the Court. But, either way, noncourt online databases may always show it. It may not be possible to completely remove something from the Internet, once it has been passed around.

Good luck
