Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
My brother's ex told him she was pregnant. She sent pics of the positive test and ultrasounds. She gained 20 lbs. Then she fell down the stairs and said she had to give birth. She would only be 20 weeks along. She sent a pic of the baby after it was born but I found the same pic online and that baby had died and was someone else's. She sent a pic of her in the hospital and it was an old pic from before they were dating. We called the hospital to ask her room and no one by that name is there and they also don't deliver babies there. She has hacked his facebook to tell everyone that they were having a baby looked up his friend's numbers and txted them telling them they will never get to see the baby ever. She said she sued him for child support. This was all lies obviously and she must have serious mental problems. What can he do legally? She needs to be punished. He also almost committed suicide until I found out about the pregnancy and supported him. He has had bad depression since finding out. She sends harassing txts to him about how he is a horrible person and no one will ever love him again and that she was suing him for everything he had. What can he do now that it's come out that she faked it all?
2 Answer from Attorneys
Your brother should alert Facebook about the invasion or impersonation. He should also request a restraining order from the Circuit Court. He may want to make a stalking report with the Police. These may not stop the ex, but should let the authorities that this gal may be a problem. He may also want to sue her for fraud and extortion. He should consult directly with an attorney in his area. They may be able to help him do these things.
Good luck
