charge but not convitted

I was charged but not convicted and have been going to college to be a teacher. I applied for a job and they did a background check and said i could not be hired because it came up a felony on my background check.If i wasn't charged for it what can i do so my college wasn't fot nothing.Is there some way to get this removed?I heard about something called espouse ( not sure if spelled right)

can you help.

I'm a single mom not much money so can't afford a laywer.

Some prior convictions can be expunged after a period of no new convictions. You did not provide enough information to give you any advice as to wether your matter can be expunged. You mentioned that you were not charged. If you were not charged with anything, how did the incident show up on a background check?

Perhaps if you can provide more specific information, an attorney might be able to tell you whether it could be expunged, and whther you could do it without an attorney.
