Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
Charged with class d felony, but the prosecuting attorney has no proof. Can the charge be dropped?

Of course the charges could be dropped. But the prosecutor brought them in the first place. Surely he or she thought that there was sufficient evidence to bring the charges, so why exactly would that same person now drop those charges? Perhaps they have some evidence that you are not aware of and that could be contested.
