Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
I was charged with a crime, during my trial the Judge allowed the prosecutor to use evidence that contained crimes I supposedly commited in another county, but had not been charged with against the same victim in as evidence. Is that legal?
1 Answer from Attorneys
The rules of evidence are tricky. But, based upon the bare bones information you provided, it sounds like the mention of other alleged crimes was rong. If you or your attorney did not object at nthe time, it may be too late to do anything about it. It's sad, but too many people think they are saving money by not hiring counsel, but pay even more by not knowing how to represent themself. In those cases, the prosecutoir seems to have a much wider range of information they can present to get a conviction.
Good luck
