But, if you can't afford one, you can talk to the Judge when your case is called and ask if you can avoid a conviction. He might refer you to the prosecutor, and you might be able to work out a plea bargain. A conviction would be devastating for your future. If you are charged with a misdemeanor, then your court date will be in the Circuit Court in Hillsboro.
