Children In Street
My 2 year old ran out into the street- he had escaped from the front door. My husband ran after him immedately and brought him back home. My neighbor across the street called the police and DFS, who promptely came to my house for an investigation. Is this legal?

You asked if there was naything illegal. but not as to shom you were asking. There appears to be no illegal activity by the police or DFS, based upon what you described. There also does nto seem to be any illegal activity by you or your husband, based upon what you described.
It is common for DFS to investigate a report of possible neglect or abuse. In nearly every case, they find no wrongdoing, and conclude there investigation after the initial contact with the parents. Unless you hear form DFS or th epolice within the next few weeks, you can probably assume that they found nothing wrong at your home.
