Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
Class C Felony Identity Theft
I am a Missouri resident charged with the above noted crime. I have been told that the statute of limitations on this charge is three years from the date that the crime was alleged to have taken place. Is this accurate information? Please advise ASAP.

Re: Class C Felony Identity Theft
If you have been charged with the crime, then you should have a criminal defense attorney representing you. This is not the type of question that a careful attorney should simply answer blindly on the internet without all of the facts. If the charge against you is in fact time barred by the statute of limitations, your attorney should be able to have the charge dismissed upon the filing and presentation of a proper Motion in Court. If you do not already have an attorney, you may feel free to contact me for a free telephone consultation.
