Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

co-defendent sentencing/ discrimenatory sentencing

My mother is currently incarcerated sentenced to 10 years. Her ex-husband and co-defendent was released in 120 days on a shock treatment which was also offered to my mother but she was denied. ISn't there a statute or law stating something about co-defendant's releasal has to apply to the other defendant as well?

Also I have heard that the women co-defendents are receiving more time than their male co-defendents. Isn't this discrimination to the women and how can I use this to our advantage?

Thank You for your help!
