Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
A cop did not read my rights when i got arrested. He did read them when i got to the station. But 15 minutes after the arrest. Is this legal?

people sometimes mistakenly believe that if there is a delay in reading the Miranda rights, that they cannot be prosecuted. The reading of the rights is relevant to confessions and other statements. In your scenario, any statements that you made betwen being taken into custody and reading your rights at the station may be excluded from evidence that could presented against you at trial.

Or those statetments may not be excluded because they were made voluntarily not as a result of questioning.
