My Fiance is being charged with second degree burglary. he ahd not shown up for his court date because the attorney told him it was not important for him to because they were only asking for a continuence. now my fiance is in jail for faliure to appear. what is the reasoning behind that?

It may be that the attorney gave bad advice. Normally, when someone is charged with a crime that person must appear at every court date. Your boyfriend may be entitled to some legal relief, such as his release on bail, if he reasonably relied upon the erroneous advice of legal counsel. It is always possible to discharge an attorney and hire someone else if he is dissatisfied, and I would certainly uderstand it if he is.
