Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
Defendant plead guilty to a crime in Randolph Co MO & was given probation to be supervised by a North Carolina Court and com. service. Service was completed, as was all visits required by PO. The initial NC PO failed to report this to MO (He was fired for not doing his job) MO then specified an additional 60 hours com service and continued probation. This was completed as required, plus the ongoing probation. Defendant was eligible for a full release on 9/24/2014.
Defendant was recently charged with an offense in NC (no conviction) and hearing is pending. Upon learning of this charge, MO is ordering defendant to appear for a probation status hearing Nov 20. The terms of his probation have been completed. NC said he is no longer on probation with them. Since defendant on a NC bond, what can happen if he leaves NC?
Since all probation conditions have been met, how can defendant handle this without incurring airfare and hotel he cannot afford? A letter has been sent to MO to be considered by the judge, but he cannot get an answer and time is running out. How does he handle?
