I received a ticket for disturbing the peace in st. louis, MO. I was drinking, however I am over 21. I was wondering what my sentencing will entail? Is it possible to receive jail time?

Re: disturbing the peace

It is possible but in most cases unlikely for someone to be sentenced to jail time on a distubing the peace charge. Still, depending upon the circumstances you may be facing jail time or a very substantial fine. Also, a plea of guilty or a finding of guilty after a trial will leave you with a conviction on your record, which is something you probably want to avoid. An attorney should be able to negotiate a plea bargain on your behalf, assuming the City has enough evidence to convict you in the first place. That plea bargain may well avoid the conviction and minimize your penalty. If you are not already represented, I handle a good number of these type cases in the city and you may call me for a free telephone consultation at 314-727-2822.
