Re: domestic abuse

No. In most cases, the prosecutor will not just allow the defendant to be released from custody without bail. It is now the state against your husband, not you against your husband and your function in the case will be basically to serve as a witness for the state if necessary. If you do not want to testify the state can subpoena you and compel your testimony. The courts have seen far too many of theses cases where a man assaults a woman, then the woman wants to drop the charges then the man assaults the woman again. If you are in an abusive relationship, get out of it. If you want to help your husband, hire the best attorney you can afford for him.
