Felony check charge

I am being charged with a felony bad check charge. I have already taken care of the check. Is there a way to get the felony charge dropped?

Re: Felony check charge

As you know, the pending charge involves the State prosecuting you for the violation of a State statute. It is not the alleged victim prosecuting you. As a result, it is very rare for the State to just drop a felony charge. If the prosecutor has enough evidence to convict you, then it may be possible to negotiate a plea bargain which would have the effect of avoiding a conviction. This is more likely if this is your first offense. You may have to prove that the bad check was made good, and you will probably have to serve a term of probation, but quite often this is the best available option for you. You should definitely hire an attorney to represent you on this. If you are in the Eastern part of the State and are not already represented by legal counsel, you may call me for a free telephone consultation.
