Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
My fiance feels like his lawyer isn't doing enough on his case he has given up on him and isn't helping to the fullest. He asked me to fire his lawyer so I did but his lawyer said he can not withdrawal from the case unless another lawyer is put on the case is this true?

The first attorney will have to file a Motion to Withdraw and get the Judge to permit the withdrawal. In many cases the Judge will not do so unless another attorney is entering an appearance as the defendant's new attorney. It is definitely easier for two attorneys to file a Substitution of Counsel.
