Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
my fiancee was sentenced this week in a case envolving his children. i have constend contact with his children. after the sentencing the prosecutor threatened me and said that if i have anymore contact with them he will consider that tempering with a witness and charge me with a class C felony. Is that right? Can he do that? I testified for my fiancee and so did his father. His father was not threatened and has custody of the children. I'm confused.

There is not enough room here for you to provide anll the pertinent facts of yoru fiance's case, so there may grounds for precluding you from contacting witnesses. But, if he has already been sentenced, then the case is pretty much over, so there is little tampering you could do. You may wish to discuss the prosecutor's statement with your fiance's attorney or consult one directly on your own. There seems ot be no cause to prevent teh kids from ineracting with you, but, again there could be facts about the case that change that.
