Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

Fines and restitutuion and signed agreements

I was fined and ordered to pay restitution in a federal case. My charges were dismissed due to me agreeing to make these payments totaling $63,000.00. I signed the agreement and was given a certain amount of time in which to pay.

I was told if I didn't honor the agreement, The dimissed charges and sentence could be imposed. Is that true?

I was also told to pay half by a so called friend. That they could'nt do anything about it if I didn't pay the entire amount. I was told I had to pay the entire amount. The judge that told me to pay knows that I do infact have the mney to pay the entire amount.

Can I go to jail if I don't pay??

Re: Fines and restitutuion and signed agreements

Did you have an attorney on these federal charges? If so, contact your attorney and obtain an explanation of your current legal rights and duties. Your question contains statements that indicate your lack of understanding of your current status. How could charges that have been "dismissed" later be "imposed"? More likely you have been given an opportunity to avoid incarceration by paying restitution or perhaps paying restitution is a condition of your probation or parole. Get legal advice before you do something you will regret later.
