Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
I have a friend who is in trouble. I need to know what a typical sentence is for someone with no prior record on 2 counts of misdemeanor recieving stolen property in Missouri. It's a class A misdemeanor. The police and prosecution appear to believe she's been involved in other illegal activities so I fear they may push for a stiff punishment.
1 Answer from Attorneys
If your friend has an attorney he or she should get all of his or her legal advice from that attorney. The attorney must tell the client what the range of punishment is for any particular crime. If the person charged does not already have an attorney, then they need to hire the very best criminal defense attorney they can afford so that they have the best opportunity to avoid taking convictions on these charges.
