Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
Jailed for Probabtion Vilolation
A friend of the family (really!) failed to attend a probation hearing in Nodaway County. A warrant was issued for his arrest. A few months, later he was stopped for a traffic violation in St. Louis. He was ''extradited'' to Maryville , MO and then sentenced to 4 years! (He declined counsel at his hearing/trial). I want to help him. Can't we have this harsh sentence put aside and have him continue his probabtion? This is not a bad kid. He's 25, a vet and these things occurred when he was in college.

Re: Jailed for Probabtion Vilolation
It may be possible to get the sentence set aside. But, more information is needed. I understand that it was a bad check charge, and he missed a probation hearing, after refusing counsel. If you have not already retained counsel on his behalf, please send me: his full name, case number and if possible, inmate number. Is he stil being held in St. Joseph.
