Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
In July 2009 I was robbed at gun point in Kansas City, MO. The people who robbed me were never caught, but just today I was contacted to see if I wanted to press charges because the police have some leads on the case. Am I entitled to anything if the case is prosecuted and the people are charged, or will I have to file a private lawsuit to get any restitution on the objects they stole that I was never able to recover or claim on my insurance?

If you stay active with the PRosecutor and the Court, they may require the defendant(s) make restitution to you as part of any plea agreement. Otherwise, you will have to file your own civil suit.
Good luck
