Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
Is it legal for a college to give my ex paperwork stating that my daughter is enrolled in college when she is not? I have proof of that. The vice president of the college signed the letter, my ex sent it to me certified mail and after a couple phone calls to the school, the vice president of the college admitted to me that my daughter isn't enrolled but that my ex asked for the paperwork, so she gave it to her. This has made me physically ill and I am seeking treatment due to the stress.

Based upon the few facts that you provided, it does not appear that the College Vice President has violated any criminal law. If the incorrect letter was part of scheme to defraud student loan organizations or the government backers, then there may be some criminal vulnerability. It isn't clear why a letter stating that your daughter is in college would make you ill. Most parents seem happy to hear that their child is in college. Perhaps you shouls consult directly with an attorney or therapist in your area, that can have access to what you weren't able to tell through this forum.
