Re: how long does a warrant last
Unless the court clerk sent you a notice giving you a new court date, you may be assured that a warrant was issued. This warrant will be in all of the important law enforcement data bases so that if you are ever pulled over, with someone who is pulled over, or just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and a policeman asks for your identity, your record might be run and the warrant will show up. You will be taken into custody immediately wherever this occurs and held pending transportation back to the jurisdiction where the warrant was issued. Therre is no time limit. The warrant does not run out or expire. Anyone in your position would be well-advised to hire an attorney immediately. In many cases, we can enter our appearance as your attorney of record in the pending cases and get the outstanding warrant recalled and cancelled by the Court. In some cases you may only be charged a small additonal amount of court costs for your "failure to appear". In more serious cases, the Court might require a bond to be posted. In any event, you have made one mistake by missing your court date. Do not make things immensely worse by failing to do the right thing now. Good luck!
