Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

I was in a local tavern and had been drinking some. A friend and I became involved in horseplay and was told by the bartender to leave. I became upset and told the bartender I would ''kick his ass''. I was arrested for class c misdeamenor-verbal assult and jailed. The following day, a warrant was issued to me indicating the above charge.
What is to worst sentence I could receive? Would it be necessary for me to obtain a lawyer as my funds are very limited.
