Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
Money was gifted to me by an old boyfriend. He lives in UK. I am in US. Once we broke up he started threatening me to get it back and is adding $100 a month in interest to what he is now calling a loan. This was never a loan and I never signed anything saying I would pay it back. He is saying he can sue me. Is this possible and will it be difficult for him? If the amount is over small claims will it be considered criminal?
1 Answer from Attorneys
Anyone can sue anyone for anything or nothing at all. But, he has absolutely no case. So, you may need to hire an attorney if he sues you, which is highly unlikely. Do not let him bully, threaten, or intimidate you! He sounds like a jerk, and you should block any communication from him, immediately! If you need any help, call me at 314-727-2822. No charge for the phone call.
