Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
Obtaining Court Transcripts
I live in northern Indiana. I wish to obtain transcripts from a 2002 felony case in Missouri. I have a friend incarcerated at the WERDCC facility in Vandalia, MO. I would like to go over the case, myself.
I am in need of the process apon which I can obtain the transcripts from her trial. I have her case number, circuit court number, and all neccessary personal information. I am having a hard time finding the correct office or person to inquire to. Please help me out if you can.

Re: Obtaining Court Transcripts
I know that when I need trial transcripts to file the record on appeal with the appellate court, I contact the court reporter who worked the trial. If you know the division number of the court where the trial took place, you can call the clerk in that division to get the contact info for the court reporter. If not, you might see if the circuit clerk's office can help you. You should also ask if she or he can estimate the costs so that you will be prepared to pay for the transcripts. Good luck.
